Summer school

Summer School was the first real hint that Education could be done differently. Over the course of a three months, lecturers on a wide range of topics were offered by community members to community members. All of this free of charge and in spaces where the Seekers could ask questions and discuss with the Educators.This Summer School tradition is being carried on year after year, with unique lectures and also interviews, videos, and programs for Seekers to follow.

Daily program

language camp

Lanuage learning is loved by many, but also in most cases abandonded in the process. Our Language Camp allows anyone who want to enhance their vocabulary and spelling to do so in a setting that includes both native speakers and fellow Seekers.Instead of opening google translate before joining, use our bot to translate directly on Discord and join the conversations right away. Other Seekers and Educators will be happy to see you, help you and say Hi / Bonjour / Hola / Konnichiwa (and much more) to you!

Courses allow Educators to teach in a collaborative and active manner. This program contains of weekly courses that have activities, Youtube videos, resources and other information from Educators.Meanwhile, Seekers are given a space to discuss their experiences during and after the classes, and a place to speak with the Educators who designed the course.This program is currently under development and will be introduced to our community soon.

Summer school

Our Summer School program began in the year 2022. Despite the fact that it was the first time we engaged the community and made the Teacher position open to everybody, we received an insane amount of responses from very passionate and well educated people.The feedback from the Erudita community and the teachers' inspiration left an outstanding impact on our Team and the project as a whole.We were able to gather additional resources for the 2023 Summer School as a result of the 2022 program, which helped us expand our team, have bigger Teacher selection, upgrade our prizes, and provide more benefits to the community.

What better school could there be than the school of life?Our Breezy Interviews will be live on our Twitch channel, with a special Discord after-stream segment where you may join us on stage and ask questions that weren't covered during the Interview.The creators will be revealed in the middle of every month.

2022

From July to September, we had six enthusiastic Teachers deliver seven different topics. The community recorded attendance at each Lecture, which was at the end of the program used to choose the winners of our presented prizes.The Lectures were presented in a more semi-formal setting to deliver enjoyable education. Our goal was to bring in topics that were easy to digest for a beginner but might open up doors to explore more in the future.From the community feedback we can happily say that our goal was successful. As everyone enjoyed the lectures and wanted to continue, the Japanese Club was established on our Discord and then moved to Language Camp.For people who are interested in the lecture topics from this year, we have gathered a ton of resources. They can be found on our Erudita Discord server.

Follow the lead of our favorite thing: "Enjoying the process and be creative in a new, unique way." This Club allows you to be creative without putting any strain on your shoulders.Express your emotions, feelings, and thoughts through Arts and Crafts, and join us every Thursday for a new prompt and style inspiration. It is a judgment-free zone where you can be yourself while also being creative.Our Arty Thursday are a safe space for everyone and allow others to freely express themselves. Arts and Crafts has helped a lot of people in coping with their most difficult life situations, as well as in sharing their love and support with others. With our club, we wish to make others happy, loved and make them feel celebrated.Another option that Creativity Club provides is monthly Courses presented by different Educators where you will challenge your skills and gain more experience. These Courses are extremely valuable due to their history and theory explanations, as well as a practical element and direct input.

You just closed your umbrella and walked with your friend into a cozy coffee place with classical music playing in the background. After ordering some warm coffee, you both reach out to read a book together from their small library while listening to rain dancing on the window ledge.This is how our Book Club feels to us and our community! A comfortable place where you can rest up after a long day and share your passion for reading and literature with others!Our Book Club allows you to enter your monthly reading goals and receive encouragement from us as you fulfill them. We hope to learn more about your thoughts and interests through the books themselves!If you read or wrote an interesting story that you wish to share with others, we have a Suggestion Box open that is ready to receive your recommenations. We welcome every genre and dearly appreciate everyone who brings something their own into our club.We also hold smaller events on Tuesdays that always follow interesting questions like: What is your favourite book and why? / What is the worst book you have ever read? / What is your favourite childhood book?All of our events are suppose to bring book lovers together and create comfortable atmosphere suitable for those who want to learn and explore new books, stories, genres and authors!

This Club has a lot to offer in a variety of categories, and we wish to present others that cooking should be enjoyable rather than a chore.Meal Prep Mondays also attempts to provide a realistic vision of cooking, one where we aim for healthy living while also understanding the constraints of cost and time that many of us students and workers face. The environment allows for judgement free experimentation which breaks the fear of failure which may exist when starting a new hobby.The Cooking Raffle which is sponsored by our wonderful community member Betty is also another way we hope to motivate people to cook. Members are encouraged to post pictures of their cooking and at the end of the month one winner is picked randomly to receive the $50 cash prize. This incentivises cooking while not putting the focus on the result but the learning experience itself.We hope to see you soon at one of our Meal Prep Monday's or one of your subssion to the Cooking Raffle. Remember the joy is in the process, the end result is our reward.

At Erudita our vision is to create a more positive education. One that is both collaborative and accessible.We are students, teachers and professionals from many different backgrounds. Together we have built a community and also a space for people to learn.Our hope is to continue building a group of diverse educators which will help us build a better educational environment. We are always in need of experts to create free courses on different subjects, organisers that will guide conversation and host lectures, and of course students that will learn but also tell us where we can do better.Together we can be the change we want to see. My name is Romain one of the Erudita Co-founders.Whilst pursuing my bachelors degree in biology I was always frustrated that the university had such limited resources for learning outside of your selected course. I found it unfortunate that a place with so many intelligent people didn't invest more in learning holistically.Learning is too often a question of grades and careers. Something to get through before "starting your life". This is why I thought Erudita should exist.Despite my best effort I could not find a place online where education was free and collaborative.Erudita hopes to be that space.
Where students can find community clubs to learn non-judgmentally.
Where students can have access to information and experts.
Where students can become teachers and vice versa.A place where education changes, from something that is forced, to something that is built, by each and everyone of us.

Hi guys, my name is Kitti and I'm one of the Co-Founders of Erudita.I graduated from graphic design but always had this big love and passion for project and team management in my heart. I have been using these passions to create a safe place for all knowledge seekers including myself, and help people grow for the past two years.Outside of Erudita, I am a quiet but on-going and creative person who enjoys travels and new cultures. Expanding my knowledge and gaining new experiences is one of my favorite activities. I adore Rick Riordan's books, quiet rainy mornings, acrylic painting and crochet.My goal is to help as many people as I can, in any way I can. Hi everyone! My name is Lena and I am a head manager of the Erudita project as well as a head mod of the Erudita discord.I am a university student seeking a Master's degree in Language Science and Technology as well as a language learner who loves being active in the language learning community.After graduating high school, I was at a loss for what to do with my life. I wanted to continue educating myself and expand my academic knowledge, but it took me a lot of trial and error to figure out which direction to take. Starting a maths degree made me realize that while I love maths and science, something was missing in my life - and that something were languages.Since middle school, I had been learning Japanese on and off, but had never really gotten anywhere. Through some people I had met in a Japanese class, I discovered a degree called Computational Linguistics, which combines maths, programming and languages and is the perfect fit for me.Getting to know languages from a more theoretical point and analyzing them made me rediscover my love for them again, and I started learning Japanese more properly. Joining the Erudita community made me find out that not only do I love learning languages, I also enjoy teaching them to and exploring them together with other people. So just at the end of 2022, I founded the Japanese club of the Erudita community in which we study Japanese together, and together with Kitti I am in the process of developing more language learning and exchange opportunities for everyone in the community.

Hi! My name is Wild and my brand is Random!I'm a head manager of the Erudita server as well as the overall assistant when it comes to scheduling outside the community.I work as a virtual assistant and live most of my life online learning new things as I go.Being a virtual assistant has helped me work on my own pace, in my own time and because of this I'm able to focus my creative energies into learning almost everything I could get my hands on.I have varied interests including health education, languages, performance arts, visual arts, and crafts. My love for DIY and being handy around the house has led to a slew of projects, both finished and unfinished, meant to help create order in my life. I am Rioni Blare, a social media assistant for the Erudita project and the Creativity Club owner.I am a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts student who's always been interested in illustration, conceptual art, and creative writing. I used to study for a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture but ultimately shifted programs as it felt very limiting with everything I envisioned myself with, both creatively and career-wise.Growing up, I've always admired artists and every fantastical and beautiful creation they offer, whatever that may be: Paintings, illustrations, writings, or songs. As someone who has always valued artistry, creativity, and education, I continually expand my knowledge to create a diverse oeuvre of illustrations, paintings, writings, and songs. It's always been my dream.From discovering to being a part of Erudita, I have found a wonderfully inclusive community that's always been motivating when it comes to my artistry, creativity, and studies.Through Erudita, it always has been enjoyable to complete my tasks. They became chores that I actually wanted to finish. They became achievements that I'm motivated to complete from start to finish. With Erudita, studying and learning have been ever so fun.

With Erudita having a focus on education, I would say the goal is being well met. I did not have the chance to join many of the summer school sessions last year. However, I noticed the positive impact it left in the community. This server provides the opportunity for others to study a subject that may be difficult to access to normally.With the study sessions, book clubs, and other various lessons provided, it also allowed for some of the community members to grow closer in bond. This gives a fair chance for a strong community to be established. It is very appreciated and valued for an educational/study based server.On a side note: I also highly enjoy the movie nights! The themes for the month are fun and a great way to have community involvement. Whenever I have the chance to join a movie night, its always a great time. Everyone is respectful and engaging throughout the movie.

I took part in the 2022 summer school as a teacher, and I can honestly say that this was an absolutely amazing experience. Not just for myself to flesh out my own public speaking skill, but also for connecting with people eager to learn to explore to improve themselves.The atmosphere was conducive to sharing knowledge, not just from me the teacher but from the students themselves. One thing that really stood out for me was the willingness of the students to attempt challenging or complex pronunciations, everyone was so supportive and felt safe to fail.At the end of my time teaching I was very satisfied with the Erudita team, and felt that my students had a good stepping stone in their journey to learn Spanish. Im really proud to have taken part.

Erudita is a great educational project, with many clubs from languages to books.Personally, I'm part of the Book Club that is held every month. I really love it. Not only because it allows me to read with a group of people, but also lets me see many different points of views and interpretations I can learn from.
Along with the Book Club, theres a Creativity Club that has allowed me to develop my artistic skills and start believing on them.This community also has an amazing fun side that allows us to take breaks and have fun together by watching movies, doing karaoke nights and many more fun events.
To me this part is really special and important, cause sometimes I forget that I need to take breaks and have fun. The Karaoke nights have made me feel like i should not put myself down and doubt about my voice and if it weren´t for them i would not be where I am right now.I truly love this community and would recommend it to anyone.

Okay, so Erudita is like pure heaven with a bunch of angels, and I'm not even exaggerating here - these are just straight-up facts. I actually joined the server back in 2022, but don't ask me which month 'cause I can't remember for the life of me. Anyways, back then I was pretty much a hermit and didn't really talk to anyone, so I left the server. But after a few months, I had a change of heart and decided to give it another shot (and let me tell you, I'm so glad I did). The people here are seriously some of the sweetest and kindest I've ever met. This server has definitely given me self confidence, and has also made me realize that we don't have to be perfect at all times.So I started checking out all the different channels and was surprised to find that there were a ton of clubs you could join - like a Cooking club, Creativity club, Japanese club, and even a Book club. That's definitely something you don't see on every server, you know? The Creativity Club got my creative skills a boost for sure it made me want start drawing again(which i thought i would never do again ) So I started talking to people and at first I was super shy and thought there was no way I could ever be friends with any of them. But now, we're more like a family, I can't even express how much I love and appreciate everything this server has to offer. It's seriously indescribable. Anyone who hasn't joined yet seriously needs to get on it ASAP so you can experience this feeling for yourself. Trust me, you won't regret it.

I was a teacher in the last summer school. Surprisingly I had a great experience with all of the help I got from Erudita with taking care of the logistics and planning. They set up everything, all I had to do was tell my availability and hold the classes for the students who were interested. I would love to do this again!

I couldn't participate in a lot of the programs during the summer school last year, but I did get to attend a bit of the Spanish class and i really appreciated how useful and "practical" the lesson was. It was accessible, it didn't feel like we were in a formal classroom, so that made it easier to feel comfortable enough to make mistakes, to ask questions, and to learn while having a good time ! I hope I can participate in more programs next time ! Thank you !

After a year's worth of stay, the community has grown exponentially! From the watch parties and community games, we now have clubs and even monthly activities themed per everyone's suggestions!I found a wholesome and supportive community that actually persisted through past the pandemic, and seeing how active the discord server is helped a lot. The summer school was fun, and I've learned many things despite my often absences. The clubs also kept me entertained and encouraged me to invest time on tapping into the arts and reading even if university has took hold of my entire schedule. All the heads for each club and activity are awesome and responsible people.I'm just happy that this is a safe space for everyone regardless of their interests and age!!
